How GazPlan differs from other gas project programs
Natural gas indoor installation projects can be drawn with desktop programs installed on a computer or with GazPlan in the browser. This page compares the two approaches by their general features, without naming products. Desktop programs differ from product to product; check the current features of yours with its vendor.

Which one when?
GazPlan fits
- You work on site with a phone or tablet and want the survey and the drawing in one place.
- You do not want to install software or deal with licences tied to a computer.
- Several people in the team need the same projects from different devices.
- You want to see and check every limit of the calculation with its code page.
An installed program may fit
- If your distribution company requires a specific program's file format, use the program that produces it. GazPlan exports sheets as PDF and DXF.
- If your team works fast with a program it knows, allow time for the switch. GazPlan is free, so you can use both for a while and compare results on the same project.
In both cases the engineer who signs the project is responsible and the distribution company's current code applies. Ask your distribution company which submission format it accepts.
